Basque Country surf spot review: Deba
This Basque Country surf spot is located further west from San Sebastian to a 30 min driving distance. It holds big swells but with smaller ones doesn’t work very well. Ideal for longboarding:

We are always in research of new technologies that will provide our rental board range the best performance.
In the video below we have been testing Surftech’s Ultraflex technology, south coast Spain.
Zarautz is located at the North East coast of Spain very close from the border with France.
It features a long beach that holds consistent swell and the quality of the waves usually is pretty good.
Despite in summer time can get crowded, the rest of the year is a great place to surf in a very calm environment.
Moreover Surf Rental headquarters are located here so is the perfect spot to pick your rental surfboard and go straight to try it.

New in our range for this year, the 9’2 Nsp cocomat rental Stand up paddle is the most polivalent board in our range, ideal for surfing waves but also for touring.
Thanks to its advanced Cocomat technology, the lightness of this board will surprise any guest.
La Zurriola beach in San Sebastian is one of the most consistent beaches in the Basque Country.
It receives most of the swells of the Cantabric coast and usually the biggest waves of the area areĀ located here.
Featuring a big pier on the west side of the beach, it allows you chosing the size of the waves you aim to surf. The west side closer to this pier usually creates smaller waves whereas the east side gets the most powerful waves.
La Zurriola in San Sebastian is a powerful beachbreak where it is recommended to surf in mid to low tide.
Glad to see this new partnership between two of the surfboard brands we work with. Torq with its unique epoxy construction boards and Channel Island providing the one of their best sell boards, the Pod Mod.
We will have this surfboard range soon available in our rental range.
